Lipotoxicity causes pancreatitis complications in obese patients

Severe complications and high mortality among obese patients with pancreatitis are the result of unsaturated fatty acids released by lipolysis of excess adipose tissue. Efforts to find methods for preventing lipotoxicity are ongoing.
