Erica Bellamkonda, M.D.

Erica Bellamkonda, M.D., is an Assistant Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She is the Practice Chair for the department of PM&R and the interim Co-Director for the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility at the Generose Building. She has a specific interest in Brain Injury Rehabilitation and is Board Certified in Brain Injury Medicine.

Dr. Bellamkonda is an integral part of the PM&R Resident and Fellowship teaching program where she is a daily instructor. She allows shadowing at-the-bedside, real-time discussion, and hands-on education to the newest physiatrists in the field. Her teaching is focused on many subjects, including:

• Neuroendocrine disorders and other medical complications after brain injury
• Traumatic Brain Injury Rehabilitation
• Post-Concussive Syndrome
• Spasticity management

Dr. Bellamkonda is constantly working to advance the department and the clinical practice of PM&R with “Women in Leadership, Medicine, and Academics,” the “Leadership Development Program,” and magnifying stewardship in the medical field with reducing waste and optimizing patient safety. She has presented across the United States and the world on patient safety, ethics in practice, and quality improvement in healthcare as a top physiatrist at the Mayo Clinic.
