Video: Carpal tunnel surgery — endoscopic

By Mayo Clinic staff

Transcript

Endoscopic surgery is a minimally invasive way to treat carpal tunnel syndrome. In this procedure, a surgeon makes one or two small incisions, each about 1 centimeter long.

Here, an incision is made just above your wrist, through which a camera attached to a thin, flexible tube is threaded. The camera allows your doctor to see inside your wrist while a surgical tool is inserted through the other incision to cut and release your carpal tunnel ligament.
