Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

  1. Itching or redness of the skin

Incidence not known

  1. Blistering, burning, crusting, dryness, or flaking of the skin
  2. blurred vision
  3. chest pain or discomfort
  4. darkening of the skin
  5. decreased urine output
  6. dilated neck veins
  7. dizziness
  8. extreme fatigue
  9. fainting
  10. fast, slow, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse
  11. fever
  12. general feeling of discomfort or illness
  13. inability to speak
  14. irregular breathing
  15. itching, scaling, severe redness, soreness, or swelling of the skin
  16. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  17. lightheadedness, dizziness, or fainting
  18. paleness or cold feeling in the fingertips and toes
  19. seizures
  20. severe or sudden headache
  21. shortness of breath
  22. slurred speech
  23. swelling of the face, fingers, feet, or lower legs
  24. temporary blindness
  25. tightness in the chest
  26. tingling or pain in the fingers or toes when exposed to cold
  27. troubled breathing
  28. unusual tiredness or weakness
  29. weakness in the arm or leg on one side of the body, sudden and severe
  30. weight gain
  31. wheezing

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

Symptoms of overdose

  1. Bluish lips or skin
  2. change in consciousness
  3. clumsiness
  4. confusion
  5. constricted, pinpoint, or small pupils (black part of the eye)
  6. depression
  7. difficult or troubled breathing
  8. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  9. drowsiness
  10. headache
  11. irregular, fast or slow, or shallow breathing
  12. irritability
  13. lack of coordination
  14. loss of consciousness
  15. low body temperature
  16. muscle aches or weakness
  17. nervousness
  18. not breathing
  19. pale or blue lips, fingernails, or skin
  20. pounding in the ears
  21. shivering
  22. sleepiness
  23. sweating
  24. weak or feeble pulse

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

  1. Anxiety
  2. burning or dryness of the eyes
  3. confusion as to time, place, or person
  4. decreased interest in sexual intercourse
  5. dry mouth
  6. hair loss
  7. hives or welts
  8. holding false beliefs that cannot be changed by fact
  9. hyperventilation
  10. inability to have or keep an erection
  11. itching skin
  12. leg cramps
  13. loss in sexual ability, desire, drive, or performance
  14. loss of appetite
  15. muscle or joint pain
  16. raised red swellings on the skin, lips, tongue, or in the throat
  17. redness of the skin
  18. restlessness
  19. seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there
  20. shaking
  21. skin rash
  22. swelling of the breasts or breast soreness in both females and males
  23. thinning of the hair
  24. trouble sleeping
  25. unusual excitement, nervousness, or restlessness
  26. vivid dreams or nightmares
  27. weight loss
