How you prepare
By Mayo Clinic staffIf you have a cardiac pacemaker, electrical stimulator or take blood-thinning medication, tell your health care provider before beginning the EMG, as the exam may need to be modified for you. The day of your EMG, don't use creams or lotions on or near the area where the exam will be performed.
