Tandem bicycles

If age, back pain or physical disability keeps you from riding a bicycle, consider some of the newer models — even if your pedaling power isn't what it used to be.

A tandem bicycle lets you and a companion ride together. A tandem bicycle typically weighs more than a standard two-wheeler. But because you're sharing the extra weight with a partner, you each do less work than if you were riding separate bikes. Riding a tandem bicycle takes choreography, but with some practice you'll enjoy a comfortable ride.
