Bored with your workout? Cross-train!

By Mayo Clinic staff

Combining two or more types of exercise is an easy way to add variety to your exercise program. Cross-training can also reduce your risk of injury and help you burn extra calories. Try one of these cross-training strategies: 1. Combine two or more types of exercise in the same workout. (Lift weights, then jog.) 2. Alternate two or more types of exercise during the week. (Lift weights Monday and Wednesday, jog on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.)
