Want to step it up? Try a pedometer

By Mayo Clinic staff

Want to get more active and fit? Use a pedometer! You can buy inexpensive pedometers at most fitness and sporting goods stores. Once you have your pedometer, set a goal, such as increasing your number of steps a day to reach a goal of 10,000 steps each day. The simple process of counting and recording your steps may help you increase your physical activity.
