Secrets of low-fat cooking

By Mayo Clinic staff

Want to cook healthier meals with less fat? Make it easy: 1. Stock your pantry with herbs and spices, and vegetable cooking spray. 2. Trade regular sour cream for fat-free sour cream or plain fat-free yogurt. 3. Use reduced-calorie or oil-free salad dressing instead of regular salad dressing. 4. Try wine, balsamic vinegar or fruit juice instead of oil-based marinades.
