Manage stress through problem-solving

By Mayo Clinic staff

To alleviate a stressful situation, put your problem-solving skills to use: 1. Identify what's causing your stress in specific terms. 2. Clarify what would make the problem go away. 3. Brainstorm potential ways you might solve your problem. 4. Choose the option that feels the most realistic and satisfying. 5. Implement your solution. 6. Reflect on the outcome and whether your solution worked.
