Cordocentesis

Cordocentesis, also known as percutaneous umbilical blood sampling, is a highly specialized prenatal test. During cordocentesis, an ultrasound transducer is used to show the position of the fetus on a monitor. Then a fetal blood sample is withdrawn from the umbilical cord for testing.
