Barrett's esophagus diagnosis

Endoscopy view of Barrett's esophagus

Barrett's esophagus has a distinct appearance when viewed during an endoscopy exam. During endoscopy, the doctor passes a lighted tube with a camera down your throat and into your esophagus. The camera may reveal abnormalities, such as the damaged tissue that signals Barrett's esophagus.
