Complications

In some cases, people with multiple sclerosis may also develop:

  • Muscle stiffness or spasms
  • Paralysis, most typically in the legs
  • Problems with bladder, bowel or sexual function
  • Mental changes, such as forgetfulness or difficulties with concentration
  • Depression
  • Epilepsy
