For instance, cut back on the amount of salt-cured foods and preserved meats that you eat, or avoid these foods altogether. In parts of China where people have begun to adopt a typical American diet, the incidence of nasopharyngeal carcinoma has been declining.
Although there's no vaccine available to prevent nasopharyngeal cancer, researchers are hopeful that one day they may be able to develop a vaccine for the Epstein-Barr virus, which would likely reduce the risk of nasopharyngeal carcinoma as well.
