The idea that your bones aren't as strong as they used to be can be frightening. You may find that talking to other people who also have osteoporosis can be encouraging and helpful. Ask your doctor if he or she knows of any support groups in your area. Or contact the National Osteoporosis Foundation (NOF) at 800-231-4222 for a list of local support groups. If there isn't a group in your area, the NOF support group coordinator can give you information on starting a support group.
