By Mayo Clinic staffWhen the exam is done, your doctor can usually tell you immediately if the pelvic exam revealed anything unusual. If you had a Pap test, those results may take a few days. Your doctor will discuss with you any next steps, additional tests, follow-up or treatment needed.
If you have questions about the pelvic exam or any other aspect of your health, bring them up while you're still in the office with your doctor.
