Complications

Left untreated, uveitis can cause the following complications:

  • Abnormally high pressure inside the eye (glaucoma)
  • Damage to the optic nerve
  • Clouding of the lens (cataract) or cornea
  • Retinal problems, such as fluid within the retina or retinal detachment
  • Vision loss
