Neurosurgeons in Florida perform successful complex spine surgeries with a collaborative approach to treatment, intensive patient monitoring during surgery, use of enhanced image guidance, and improvements in surgical instrumentation and techniques.

Mayo's proton beam therapy facility will expand treatment options for patients with skull base tumors
Collaborative teams of specialists use innovative surgical techniques and minimally invasive procedures such as the endoscopic endonasal approach, endoscopic-assisted cranial surgery and, beginning in 2015, proton beam therapy to treat skull base tumors.

NIH awards $7.5 million grant to identify drug targets to treat Alzheimer's disease
Researchers at Mayo Clinic in Florida are part of a team that received a $7.5 million grant from the National Institutes of Health to study the role that immunity plays and identify drug targets to treat and possibly prevent Alzheimer's disease.
