Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. bleeding gums
  3. blood in the urine or stools
  4. blurred vision
  5. body aches or pain
  6. chest pain or tightness
  7. chills
  8. cough
  9. decreased urine output
  10. dilated neck veins
  11. dizziness
  12. ear congestion
  13. difficulty in breathing
  14. fainting
  15. fever
  16. headache
  17. hives, itching, skin rash
  18. hoarseness
  19. irregular heartbeat
  20. irritation
  21. joint pain, stiffness, or swelling
  22. loss of voice
  23. lower back or side pain
  24. nervousness
  25. painful or difficult urination
  26. pale skin
  27. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  28. pounding in the ears
  29. redness of the skin
  30. slow or fast heartbeat
  31. sneezing
  32. sore throat
  33. stuffy or runny nose
  34. swelling of the eyelids, face, lips, hands, or feet
  35. trouble swallowing
  36. ulcers, sores, or white spots in the mouth
  37. unusual bleeding or bruising
  38. unusual tiredness or weakness
  39. weight gain

Less common

  1. Bladder pain
  2. bloating
  3. bloody or cloudy urine
  4. burning urination
  5. coughing up blood
  6. frequent urge to urinate
  7. increased menstrual flow or vaginal bleeding
  8. indigestion
  9. nosebleeds
  10. pains in the chest, groin, or legs, especially calves of the legs
  11. pains in the stomach, side, or abdomen, possibly radiating to the back
  12. paralysis
  13. prolonged bleeding from cuts
  14. severe headaches of sudden onset
  15. sudden loss of coordination
  16. sudden onset of slurred speech
  17. sudden vision changes
  18. vomiting
  19. yellow eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Diarrhea
  2. difficulty in moving
  3. muscle or bone pain
  4. muscle stiffness
  5. pain in the joints
  6. stomach pain

Less common

  1. Constipation
