Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Agitation
  2. black, tarry stools
  3. blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin
  4. blurred vision
  5. chest pain
  6. chills
  7. cloudy urine
  8. coma
  9. confusion
  10. cough
  11. decreased urine output
  12. depression
  13. diarrhea
  14. dizziness
  15. dry mouth
  16. fever
  17. flushed, dry skin
  18. fruit-like breath odor
  19. headache
  20. hostility
  21. increased hunger
  22. increased thirst
  23. increased urination
  24. irritability
  25. itching
  26. joint or muscle pain
  27. lethargy
  28. muscle twitching
  29. nausea
  30. painful or difficult urination
  31. rapid weight gain
  32. red irritated eyes
  33. redness, swelling, or pain of the skin
  34. scaling of the skin on the hands and feet
  35. sore throat
  36. sores, ulcers, or white spots in the mouth or on the lips
  37. stomach pain
  38. sweating
  39. swelling of the face, ankles, or hands
  40. swollen glands
  41. tingling of the hands and feet
  42. trouble breathing
  43. ulceration of the skin
  44. unexplained weight loss
  45. unusual bleeding or bruising
  46. unusual tiredness or weakness
  47. vomiting

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

  1. Decreased appetite
  2. swelling or inflammation of the mouth
