Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Bloody urine
  2. chills
  3. clay-colored stools
  4. dark urine
  5. decreased frequency or amount of urine
  6. dizziness
  7. fast heartbeat
  8. fever
  9. headache
  10. hives or welts, itching, rash
  11. hoarseness
  12. increased thirst
  13. irritation
  14. joint pain, stiffness, or swelling
  15. loss of appetite
  16. lower back or side pain
  17. nausea
  18. pain in the groin or genitals
  19. redness of the skin
  20. sharp back pain just below the ribs
  21. stomach pain
  22. swelling of the eyelids, face, lips, hands, lower legs, or feet
  23. tightness in the chest
  24. trouble breathing or swallowing
  25. unpleasant breath odor
  26. unusual tiredness or weakness
  27. vomiting
  28. vomiting of blood
  29. weight gain
  30. yellow eyes or skin

Less common

  1. Muscle pain, stiffness, cramps, or spasms

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Less common

  1. Diarrhea
  2. discouragement
  3. feeling sad or empty
  4. irritable
  5. loss of interest or pleasure
  6. trouble concentrating
  7. trouble sleeping
  8. upper abdominal or stomach pain

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
