Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Changes in vision
  2. chest pain
  3. fast, irregular, pounding, or racing heartbeat or pulse
  4. increased sweating

Incidence not known

  1. Abdominal or stomach pain
  2. agitation
  3. bloody diarrhea
  4. cold fingers or toes
  5. confusion
  6. cough
  7. diarrhea
  8. difficulty swallowing
  9. dizziness
  10. fainting
  11. fever
  12. headache, sudden, severe, and continuing
  13. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  14. numbness or tingling of the fingers or toes
  15. overactive reflexes
  16. pain spreading to the left shoulder
  17. paleness or cold feeling in the fingertips and toes
  18. poor coordination
  19. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  20. restlessness
  21. shivering
  22. skin rash, hives, or itching skin
  23. talking or acting with excitement you cannot control
  24. tightness in the chest, throat, neck, and jaw
  25. tingling or pain in the fingers or toes when exposed to cold
  26. trembling or shaking
  27. twitching
  28. unusual tiredness or weakness
  29. weakness in the legs

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Less common

  1. Acid or sour stomach
  2. belching
  3. bone pain
  4. continuing ringing or buzzing or other unexplained noise in the ears
  5. dry mouth
  6. feeling of warmth
  7. hearing loss
  8. heartburn
  9. hot or cold sensation
  10. indigestion
  11. pain or tenderness around the eyes and cheekbones
  12. redness of the face, neck, arms, and occasionally upper chest
  13. stomach discomfort or upset
  14. stuffy or runny nose
  15. trouble sleeping

Incidence not known

  1. Seizures

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
