Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Rare

  1. Blurred vision
  2. dizziness
  3. fast, irregular, pounding, or racing heartbeat or pulse
  4. headache
  5. nervousness
  6. pounding in the ears
  7. slow or fast heartbeat

Incidence not known

  1. Areas of the skin that turned red or dark or feel tight
  2. bluish color of the fingernails, lips, skin, palms, or nail beds
  3. bone pain in the hips or ribs
  4. burning, dry, or itching eyes
  5. change in consciousness
  6. chest pain or discomfort
  7. cough
  8. decreased or uncontrolled urination
  9. difficulty with swallowing
  10. discharge or excessive tearing
  11. fainting
  12. fever
  13. hives or welts, itching, skin rash
  14. increased sweating
  15. lack or loss of strength
  16. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  17. lightheadedness, dizziness, or fainting
  18. loss of consciousness
  19. muscle weakness
  20. no blood pressure or pulse
  21. no breathing
  22. numbness, tingling, pain, or weakness in the hands or feet
  23. paralysis or severe weakness of the legs
  24. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  25. redness of the skin
  26. redness, pain, or swelling of the eye, eyelid, or inner lining of the eyelid
  27. shakiness in the legs, arms, hands, or feet
  28. skin that burns or itches, swells, scales, or hardens
  29. stiff joints or muscles
  30. stopping of the heart
  31. trembling or shaking of the hands or feet
  32. trouble moving your arms or legs
  33. uncontrolled bowel movements
  34. uncontrolled movements of the body
  35. unusual tiredness or weakness

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Rare

  1. Bleeding, blistering, burning, coldness, discoloration of the skin, feeling of pressure, hives, infection, inflammation, itching, lumps, numbness, pain, rash, redness, scarring, soreness, stinging, swelling, tenderness, tingling, ulceration, or warmth at the injection site
  2. burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
  3. change in taste
  4. discomfort in the throat
  5. fear
  6. loss of taste
  7. nausea
  8. pain in the arms or legs
  9. sleepiness or unusual drowsiness
  10. vomiting

Incidence not known

  1. Transient, mild, pleasant aromatic odor

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
