Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Incidence not known

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. bleeding gums
  3. blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin
  4. blisters, hives, or itching
  5. blood in the urine or stools
  6. blurred vision
  7. changes in blood pressure
  8. changes in vision, especially night blindness
  9. chest pain
  10. cloudy or dark urine
  11. cough
  12. cracks in the skin
  13. decreased vision
  14. diarrhea
  15. difficulty in breathing, chewing, swallowing, or talking
  16. double vision
  17. drooping eyelids
  18. fever with or without chills
  19. general feeling of discomfort or illness
  20. general feeling of tiredness or weakness
  21. glare or snowy image caused by bright light
  22. hair loss
  23. headache
  24. high fever
  25. increased irritability
  26. increased sensitivity of the eyes to sunlight
  27. light-colored stools
  28. loss of bladder control
  29. loss of heat from the body
  30. lower back or side pain
  31. muscle or joint pain
  32. muscle weakness
  33. nausea
  34. nosebleeds
  35. painful or difficult urination
  36. pale skin
  37. personality changes
  38. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  39. red, irritated eyes
  40. red, swollen skin
  41. scaly skin
  42. severe tiredness
  43. skin rash
  44. small red or purple spots on the skin
  45. sore throat
  46. sores, ulcers, or white spots in the mouth or on the lips
  47. swelling of the face, hands, legs, and feet
  48. swollen, painful, or tender lymph glands in the neck, armpit, or groin
  49. total body jerking
  50. unusual bleeding or bruising
  51. unusual tiredness or weakness
  52. upper right abdominal pain
  53. vaginal bleeding
  54. vomiting
  55. yellow eyes and skin

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

Symptoms of overdose

  1. Loss of consciousness
  2. shakiness and unsteady walk
  3. unsteadiness, trembling, or other problems with muscle control or coordination

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

  1. Burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
  2. dizziness or lightheadedness
  3. drowsiness
  4. feeling of constant movement of self or surroundings
  5. hiccups
  6. loss of appetite
  7. sensation of spinning
  8. stomach pain or distress
  9. trouble sleeping
  10. weight loss

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
