Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. bleeding gums
  3. blood in the urine or stools
  4. blurred vision
  5. burning, tingling, numbness or pain in the hands, arms, feet, or legs
  6. chest pain or tightness
  7. chills
  8. confusion
  9. cough
  10. diarrhea
  11. dizziness, fainting, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  12. fever
  13. lack or loss of strength
  14. lower back or side pain
  15. nausea
  16. painful or difficult urination
  17. pale skin
  18. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  19. rapid breathing
  20. severe constipation
  21. severe vomiting
  22. sneezing
  23. sore throat
  24. stomach pain
  25. sweating
  26. trouble breathing
  27. ulcers, sores, or white spots in the mouth
  28. unsteadiness or awkwardness
  29. unusual bleeding or bruising
  30. unusual tiredness or weakness

Less common

  1. Blue lips, fingernails, or skin
  2. bone pain
  3. change in muscle reflexes
  4. coughing up blood
  5. dark urine
  6. headache
  7. irregular, fast or slow, or shallow breathing
  8. joint pain, stiffness, or swelling
  9. light-colored stools
  10. muscle pain or weakness
  11. stomach pain, continuing
  12. swelling of the feet or lower legs
  13. vomiting
  14. weakness of the muscles in your face
  15. yellow eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Less common

  1. Anxiety
  2. mental depression
  3. nightmares or unusually vivid dreams

Incidence not known

  1. Redness, pain, or swelling at the injection site
