Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Incidence not known

  1. Anxiety
  2. chest pain or discomfort
  3. chills
  4. cold sweats
  5. confusion
  6. confusion about identity, place, and time
  7. decrease in frequency of urination
  8. decrease in urine volume
  9. difficulty in passing urine (dribbling)
  10. disturbed behavior
  11. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up from a lying or sitting position
  12. dry mouth
  13. false or unusual sense of well-being
  14. hyperventilation
  15. irregular heartbeats
  16. irregular, twisting uncontrolled movement of the face, hands, arms, or legs
  17. irritability
  18. nervousness
  19. painful urination
  20. restlessness
  21. shaking
  22. shortness of breath
  23. slow or irregular heartbeat
  24. trouble sleeping
  25. unusual tiredness

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

Symptoms of overdose

  1. Change in consciousness
  2. chest pain or discomfort
  3. convulsions
  4. decreased awareness or responsiveness
  5. decreased secretions of the mouth, pharynx, nose, or bronchi
  6. delusions of persecution, mistrust, suspiciousness, or combativeness
  7. dizziness
  8. dry mouth
  9. enlarged pupils
  10. face is warm or hot to touch
  11. fainting
  12. fast, slow, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse
  13. foul-smelling breath
  14. holding false beliefs that cannot be changed by fact
  15. lightheadedness
  16. loss of consciousness
  17. loss of memory
  18. no breathing
  19. redness to face
  20. seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there
  21. severe sleepiness
  22. shakiness and unsteady walk
  23. trouble sitting still
  24. unsteadiness, trembling, or other problems with muscle control or coordination
  25. unusual excitement, nervousness, or restlessness
  26. warm, dry skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

  1. Blurred vision
  2. difficulty having a bowel movement (stool)
  3. drowsiness
  4. nausea
  5. vomiting
