Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Blurred vision
  2. chest pain or discomfort
  3. chills
  4. constipation
  5. cough
  6. dizziness
  7. eye pain
  8. fever
  9. general feeling of illness
  10. headache
  11. lightheadedness, dizziness, or fainting
  12. muscle twitching
  13. nausea
  14. pale skin
  15. pounding in the ears
  16. slow or irregular heartbeat
  17. sore throat
  18. trouble breathing
  19. unusual bleeding or bruising
  20. unusual tiredness or weakness
  21. vomiting

Incidence not known

  1. Agitation
  2. blistering, peeling, loosening of the skin
  3. blood in the urine
  4. bloody or black, tarry stools
  5. bluish-colored lips, fingernails, or palms
  6. chest tightness
  7. coma
  8. confusion
  9. constipation
  10. dark urine
  11. decrease in amount of urine
  12. depression
  13. diarrhea
  14. difficulty in speaking
  15. difficulty swallowing
  16. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  17. double vision
  18. heartburn
  19. hives, itching
  20. inability to move the arms, legs, or facial muscles
  21. inability to speak
  22. indigestion
  23. irritability
  24. joint or muscle pain
  25. lethargy
  26. loss of appetite
  27. noisy, rattling breathing
  28. numbness or tingling in the hands, feet, or lips
  29. pain or discomfort in the arms, jaw, back, or neck
  30. painful or difficult urination
  31. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  32. red irritated eyes
  33. red skin lesions, often with a purple center
  34. seizures
  35. shoulder discomfort, pain, or stiffness
  36. stomach pain, cramping, or burning
  37. stupor
  38. sweating
  39. swelling of the face, fingers, hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs
  40. swollen glands
  41. vomiting of blood or material that looks like coffee grounds
  42. weakness or heaviness of the legs
  43. weight gain
  44. yellow eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Change in taste
  2. increased sweating
  3. loss of taste
  4. pain, redness, or swelling at the injection site
  5. slow wound healing
  6. unusual skin odor
