Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. bladder pain
  3. bleeding gums
  4. blood in the urine or stools
  5. blurred vision
  6. body aches or pain
  7. bone pain
  8. chest pain or tightness
  9. chills
  10. cloudy urine
  11. confusion
  12. cough
  13. cough producing mucus
  14. difficult, burning, or painful urination
  15. difficulty or trouble breathing
  16. difficulty in moving
  17. dizziness
  18. ear congestion
  19. fainting
  20. fast heartbeat
  21. fever
  22. frequent urge to urinate
  23. headache
  24. hives, itching, skin rash
  25. hoarseness
  26. irritation
  27. joint pain, stiffness or swelling
  28. lightheadedness
  29. loss of voice
  30. lower back or side pain
  31. muscle pain or stiffness
  32. nervousness
  33. pain in the arms or legs
  34. painful or difficult urination
  35. pale skin
  36. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  37. pounding in the ears
  38. rapid, shallow breathing
  39. redness of the skin
  40. runny or stuffy nose
  41. slow or fast heartbeat
  42. sneezing
  43. sore throat
  44. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
  45. swelling of the eyelids, face, lips, hands, or feet
  46. trouble swallowing
  47. unusual bleeding or bruising
  48. unusual tiredness or weakness

Less common

  1. Nausea
  2. nosebleed
  3. vomiting

Incidence not known

  1. Blisters on the skin
  2. blue lips, fingernails, or skin
  3. coughing up blood
  4. decrease in height
  5. decrease or increase in the amount of urine
  6. eye pain
  7. fast breathing
  8. feeling of fullness
  9. fever sores on the skin
  10. general feeling of illness
  11. pain in the ribs
  12. pain spreading to the left shoulder
  13. stomach pain
  14. swollen glands
  15. weight gain

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
  2. constipation
  3. decreased appetite
  4. diarrhea
  5. general feeling of discomfort or illness
  6. hair loss or thinning of hair
  7. lack or loss of strength
  8. mouth or throat pain
  9. trouble sleeping
