Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Pale skin
  2. troubled breathing with exertion
  3. unusual bleeding or bruising
  4. unusual tiredness or weakness

Less common

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. bladder pain
  3. bleeding gums
  4. blood in the urine or stools
  5. blurred vision
  6. chest pain
  7. chills
  8. collection of blood under the skin
  9. confusion
  10. convulsions
  11. cough
  12. decreased or cloudy urine
  13. deep, dark purple bruise
  14. difficult, burning, or painful urination
  15. dizziness
  16. dry mouth
  17. fainting or lightheadedness when getting up from a lying or sitting position
  18. fever
  19. frequent urge to urinate
  20. increased thirst
  21. irregular heartbeat
  22. itching, pain, redness, or swelling at the injection site
  23. loss of appetite
  24. lower back or side pain
  25. muscle pain or cramps
  26. nausea or vomiting
  27. numbness or tingling in the hands, feet, or lips
  28. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  29. red, tender, or oozing skin at incision
  30. shortness of breath
  31. sore throat
  32. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
  33. sudden sweating

Incidence not known

  1. Back pain
  2. bowel or bladder dysfunction
  3. difficulty with swallowing
  4. fast heartbeat
  5. hives, itching, or skin rash
  6. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  7. leg weakness
  8. numbness
  9. paralysis
  10. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  11. tightness in the chest

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

Symptoms of overdose

  1. Abdominal or stomach pain or swelling
  2. bruising or purple areas on the skin
  3. coughing up blood
  4. decreased alertness
  5. headache
  6. joint pain or swelling
  7. nosebleeds

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Difficulty having a bowel movement
  2. swelling
  3. trouble sleeping

Less common

  1. Acid or sour stomach
  2. belching
  3. diarrhea
  4. heartburn
  5. indigestion
  6. pain
  7. skin blisters
  8. stomach discomfort, upset, or pain
  9. tightness in the chest
  10. unusual changes to site of surgery
  11. wound drainage, increased
