Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Anxious or nervous feeling
  2. behavior change similar to being drunk
  3. blurred vision
  4. chills
  5. cold sweats
  6. confusion or difficulty thinking
  7. depression
  8. dizziness or lightheadedness
  9. drowsiness
  10. excessive hunger
  11. fast heartbeat
  12. fever
  13. headache
  14. irritability or abnormal behavior
  15. lower back or side pain
  16. nightmares
  17. painful or difficult urination
  18. restless sleep
  19. seizures
  20. shakiness
  21. slurred speech
  22. tingling in the hands, feet, lips, or tongue

Less common

  1. Dry, red, hot, or irritated skin

Rare

  1. Depression of the skin at the injection site
  2. dryness of the mouth
  3. fast or weak pulse
  4. itching, redness, or swelling at the injection site
  5. muscle cramps or pain
  6. nausea
  7. skin rash or itching over the whole body
  8. sweating
  9. thickening of the skin at the injection site
  10. trouble breathing
  11. unusual tiredness or weakness
  12. vomiting

Incidence not known

  1. Bloating or swelling of the face, arms, hands, lower legs, or feet
  2. chest tightness
  3. decreased urine
  4. difficulty with swallowing
  5. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  6. fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse
  7. hives or itching skin
  8. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  9. redistribution or accumulation of body fat
  10. unusual weight gain or loss

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Body aches or pain
  2. sneezing
  3. sore throat
  4. stuffy nose or runny nose
  5. tender, swollen glands in the neck
  6. unusual tiredness or weakness
  7. voice changes

Incidence not known

  1. Redness, swelling, or itching at the injection site
