Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Pale skin
  2. trouble breathing
  3. unusual bleeding or bruising
  4. unusual tiredness or weakness

Rare

  1. Increase in blood pressure
  2. increase in body temperature

Incidence not known

  1. Blood in the urine
  2. blood in the stools
  3. blue lips, fingernails, or skin
  4. blurred vision
  5. burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
  6. bruising
  7. chest pain, discomfort, or tightness
  8. chills
  9. confusion
  10. cough
  11. coughing or vomiting blood
  12. diarrhea
  13. difficulty swallowing
  14. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  15. fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse
  16. fever
  17. headache
  18. hives, itching, skin rash
  19. inability to speak
  20. joint or muscle pain
  21. lightheadedness, dizziness, or fainting
  22. nausea
  23. nervousness
  24. no blood pressure or pulse
  25. numbness or tingling of the face, hands, or feet
  26. pain in the chest, groin, or legs, especially the calves
  27. persistent bleeding or oozing from puncture sites, mouth, or nose
  28. pounding in the ears
  29. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  30. redness or soreness of the eyes
  31. shakiness in the legs, arms, hands, or feet
  32. seizures
  33. severe or sudden headache
  34. slow or irregular heartbeat
  35. slurred speech
  36. sores in the mouth
  37. stomach pain
  38. stopping of the heart
  39. sudden loss of coordination
  40. sweating
  41. swelling of the feet or lower legs
  42. temporary blindness
  43. trembling or shaking of the hands or feet
  44. unconsciousness
  45. vision changes
  46. vomiting
  47. weakness in the arm or leg on one side of the body, sudden and severe

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

  1. Lack or loss of strength

  1. Redness or pain at the catheter site
