Mallory J. Raymond, M.D., is an assistant professor of Otolaryngology — Head and Neck surgery with a sub-specialization in Otology and Neurotology. She completed her undergraduate education at the University of Chicago where she studied biology. She then attended the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where she was selected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society as a junior candidate. She then completed her Otolaryngology residency at Emory University where she was selected by the department to serve as the administrative chief resident during her final year. During her time at Emory, she received the "Resident Teacher of the Year Award" and "First Place Resident Research Award". She also completed a specialized track in medical education. She then completed a two-year ACGME accredited Neurotology fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. She joined Mayo Clinic Florida in 2022 and serves as the Department of Otolaryngology's Residency Advising Director and Diversity Leader.

Her clinical focuses and interests include:

  • Chronic ear disease and cholesteatoma
  • Treatments for hearing loss, including cochlear implantation, bone conduction hearing devices, and stapedotomy
  • Vestibular schwannoma and other tumors of the ear and lateral skull base
  • Pulsatile tinnitus
  • Cerebrospinal fluid leaks

She has been actively involved with the education of residents and fellows and conducts both clinical and educational research. Her clinical research includes the study of cochlear implant outcomes and surgical techniques for the eustachian tube and tumors of the lateral skull base. Her educational research focuses generally on questions of how to improve surgical training. She is interested in utilizing surgical videos to improve teaching and learning and harnessing artificial intelligence to improve video analysis.
