Addiction Services

The Outpatient Addiction Program is a primary, dual-disorder enhanced, substance use treatment program for individuals 18 years or older. The program offers half-day outpatient addiction services in a four-week program. Sessions are held Monday through Friday. The program includes:

• Educational and relapse-prevention group sessions.
• Process group psychotherapy sessions.
• Individual counseling.
• Friday family day (every other Friday).
• Ongoing nursing assessments for substance use, and lab testing to monitor sobriety.
• Medications management — individuals in need have access to addiction psychiatrists who can oversee the management of medications prescribed specifically for addiction and related conditions or diseases.

Continuing care

The treatment team assists you during every step of the recovery journey because the right support at the right time gives the greatest opportunity for success. After completing the Outpatient Addiction Program, your team will discuss the best level of continuing care for you. You can enter one of the continuing care programs, or the team will coordinate continuing care closer to your home.

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) Clinic for substance use disorder

Mayo Clinic addiction experts offer a clinic designed to help with the medical management of substance use disorders. Clinicians in the MAT Clinic assess current cravings for alcohol, opioids and other addictive substances. They can prescribe medications, such as buprenorphine for opioid use disorder or acamprosate for alcohol use disorder to assist with craving management.
