Olaparib in Treating Patients With Metastatic Biliary Tract Cancer With Aberrant DNA Repair Gene Mutations Rochester, Minn., Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz. This phase II trial studies how well olaparib works in treating patients with biliary tract cancer that has spread to other places in the body (metastatic) and with aberrant DNA repair gene mutations. Olaparib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Understanding the Relationship Between Benign Breast Tissue, Benign Breast Disease, and Breast Cancer Development Jacksonville, Fla. The purpose of this study is to culture human mammary cells to identify cellular characteristics associated with lobular involution status. Dose-Escalation Study of cevostamab (BFCR4350A) in Participants With Relapsed or Refractory Multiple Myeloma (R/R MM) Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz. This is a phase I, multicenter, open-label, dose-escalation study of cevostamab (BFCR4350A) administered as a single agent by IV infusion to participants with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma (R/R MM). A Study to Evaluate Immunotherapy and Ovarian Function Among Pre-menopausal Melanoma Survivors Rochester, Minn. The purposes of this study are to analyze the ovarian function of female premenopausal melanoma survivors who have undergone immunotherapy, and compare with data from age-matched controls, prospectively investigate ovarian function in premenopausal women with melanoma undergoing immunotherapy, and to identify the impact of ovarian function change on the frequency and function of CD8+ T cells during immunotherapy. A Study of Proton Radiation Divided into Fewer Doses for Low Risk Prostate Cancer Rochester, Minn., Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz. The purpose of this study is to compare the effects (good and bad) on patients with prostate cancer by comparing the standard dose of radiation therapy (44 treatments over 8½-9 weeks) with a higher daily dose of radiation (5 treatments over 1-2 weeks) to see if the effects of the treatments are similar or better. A Study to Compare of the Glycotest™ HCC Panel vs AFP for the Detection of Early-stage Hepatocellular Carcinoma Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to compare the use of the Glycotest HCC Panel vs. the serum protein biomarker alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) for the early detection of Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC). Cardiotoxic Effects of Chemotherapy in Patients with Sarcomas Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to determine if two-dimensional speckle tracking echocardiography (2D-STE) derived-strain can detect early myocardial dysfunction and thus predict cardiotoxicity in sarcoma subjects undergoing anthracycline therapy and to compare three dimensional speckle tracking echocardiography (3D-STE) to 2D-STE in the same group of patients. A Study to Detect Pancreatic Cancer Using Circulating Tumor Markers Rochester, Minn. The primary purpose of this study is to select and validate candidate methylated DNA markers (MDMs) (individually and in combined panels) for the detection of pancreative ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). The potential complementary value of mutant KRAS and CA19-9 will also be evaluated. Cellular Immunotherapy for Viral Induced Cancer - EBV Positive Lymphomas Rochester, Minn. To investigate the efficacy of autologous Epstein-barr virus (EBV)-specific T cells for the treatment of EBV positive Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL), Hodgkin Lymphoma (HL) and Post-transplant Lymphoproliferative Disease (PTLD) after failing first line treatment. Changes in Blood Components in Patients with Ovarian Cancer Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to assemble a collection of serial plasma biospecimens from women with ovarian, primary peritoneal, or fallopian tube cancer for future research projects to identify changes in levels of various plasma components that occur during the course of ovarian cancer, including changes that occur with debulking surgery, chemotherapy, disease relapse, and subsequent therapy. The patient comes first. So the mission and research here is to advance how we can best help the patient, how to make sure the patient comes first in care. So in many ways, it's a cycle. It can start with as simple as an idea worked on in a laboratory, brought to the patient bedside, and if everything goes right — and let's say it's helpful or beneficial — then brought on as a standard approach. And I think that is one of the unique characteristics of Mayo's approach to research — that patient-centeredness — that really helps to put it in its own spotlight.
