Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Incidence not known

  1. Anxiety
  2. attempts at killing oneself
  3. back, leg, or stomach pains
  4. black, tarry stools
  5. bleeding gums
  6. blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin
  7. blood in the urine or stools
  8. blurred or decreased vision
  9. change in near or distance vision
  10. chest discomfort or pain
  11. chills
  12. cold sweats
  13. confusion
  14. continuing ringing or buzzing or other unexplained noise in the ears
  15. cough
  16. dark urine
  17. diarrhea
  18. difficulty in focusing the eyes
  19. difficulty with speaking
  20. difficulty with swallowing
  21. disturbed color perception
  22. dizziness
  23. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  24. double vision
  25. drooling
  26. fast, slow, irregular, or pounding heartbeat
  27. feeling that others are watching you or controlling your behavior
  28. feeling that others can hear your thoughts
  29. feeling, seeing, or hearing things that are not there
  30. fever
  31. general tiredness and weakness
  32. halos around lights
  33. headache
  34. hearing loss
  35. inability to move the eyes
  36. increased blinking or spasms of the eyelid
  37. joint or muscle pain
  38. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  39. light-colored stools
  40. loss of balance control
  41. lower back or side pain
  42. muscle trembling, jerking, or stiffness
  43. muscular pain, tenderness, wasting, or weakness
  44. night blindness
  45. nausea
  46. overbright appearance of lights
  47. painful or difficult urination
  48. pale skin
  49. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  50. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  51. red skin lesions, often with a purple center
  52. red, irritated eyes
  53. restlessness
  54. shuffling walk
  55. skin rash, hives, or itching
  56. sore throat
  57. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
  58. sticking out of the tongue
  59. stiffness of the limbs
  60. sweating
  61. swollen or painful glands
  62. tightness in the chest
  63. trouble breathing
  64. tunnel vision
  65. twitching, twisting, or uncontrolled repetitive movements of the tongue, lips, face, arms, or legs
  66. uncontrolled movements, especially of the face, neck, and back
  67. unusual bleeding or bruising
  68. unusual tiredness or weakness
  69. upper right abdominal or stomach pain
  70. vomiting
  71. yellow eyes and skin

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

Symptoms of overdose

  1. Cold, clammy skin
  2. decreased urine
  3. drowsiness
  4. dry mouth
  5. fast, weak pulse
  6. increased thirst
  7. lightheadedness, dizziness, or fainting
  8. loss of appetite
  9. muscle pain or cramps
  10. numbness or tingling in the hands, feet, or lips

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

  1. Change in hair color
  2. hair loss
  3. increased sensitivity of the skin to sunlight
  4. redness or other discoloration of the skin
  5. severe sunburn
  6. stomach cramps
  7. trouble sleeping
  8. weight loss

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
