Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

For females only

More common
  1. Bloating (mild)
  2. stomach or pelvic pain
Less common or rare
  1. Bloating (moderate to severe)
  2. decreased amount of urine
  3. diarrhea
  4. feeling of indigestion
  5. nausea
  6. pelvic pain (severe)
  7. rapid weight gain
  8. stomach pain, severe
  9. swelling of feet or lower legs
  10. trouble breathing
  11. vomiting

More common

  1. Bloating (mild)

Less common or rare

Incidence not known

  1. Chest tightness
  2. flushing of the skin
  3. hives or welts
  4. itching of the skin
  5. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  6. pain in chest, groin, or legs, especially in the calves
  7. redness of the skin
  8. severe, sudden headache
  9. skin rash
  10. slurred speech
  11. sudden loss of coordination
  12. sudden, severe weakness or numbness in the arm or leg
  13. unusually warm skin
  14. vision changes

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Less common

  1. Bleeding, blistering, burning, coldness, discoloration of skin, feeling of pressure, hives, infection, inflammation, itching, lumps, numbness, pain, rash, redness, scarring, soreness, stinging, swelling, tenderness, tingling, ulceration, or warmth at the injection site
  2. discouragement
  3. enlargement of breasts
  4. feeling sad or empty
  5. headache
  6. irritability
  7. lack of appetite
  8. loss of interest or pleasure
  9. trouble concentrating
  10. trouble sleeping
  11. tiredness
