Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Diarrhea
  2. nausea
  3. vomiting

Less common

  1. Aggressive, angry
  2. back pain
  3. bleeding gums
  4. blurred vision
  5. chest pain
  6. confusion
  7. coughing up blood
  8. decreased urination
  9. difficulty in breathing or swallowing
  10. discouragement
  11. dizziness
  12. dry mouth
  13. fainting
  14. feeling sad or empty
  15. headache
  16. increase in heart rate
  17. increased menstrual flow or vaginal bleeding
  18. irritability
  19. lack of appetite
  20. lightheadedness
  21. loss of bladder control
  22. loss of interest or pleasure
  23. nervousness
  24. nosebleeds
  25. paralysis
  26. pounding in the ears
  27. prolonged bleeding from cuts
  28. rapid breathing
  29. red or dark brown urine
  30. red or black, tarry stools
  31. seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there
  32. sleepiness or unusual drowsiness
  33. slow or fast heartbeat
  34. sunken eyes
  35. thirst
  36. trouble concentrating
  37. trouble sleeping
  38. unusual tiredness or weakness
  39. wrinkled skin

Incidence not known

  1. Anxiety
  2. back, leg, or stomach pains
  3. blistering, burning, crusting, dryness, or flaking of the skin where the patch is applied
  4. bloating
  5. blood in the vomit
  6. chest pain, discomfort, or tightness
  7. chills
  8. coma
  9. constipation
  10. dark urine
  11. fever
  12. general body swelling
  13. increased thirst
  14. indigestion
  15. itching, scaling, severe redness, soreness, or swelling of the skin where the patch is applied
  16. light-colored stools
  17. muscle aches, pain, stiffness, or cramps
  18. pains in stomach, side, or abdomen, possibly radiating to the back
  19. pale skin
  20. seizures
  21. severe or continuing stomach pain
  22. shaking
  23. sore throat
  24. sweating
  25. swelling of the face, ankles, or hands
  26. upper right abdominal or stomach pain
  27. vomiting of blood or material that looks like coffee
  28. yellowing of the eyes or skin

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

Symptoms of overdose

  1. Blurred vision
  2. chest pain or discomfort
  3. confusion
  4. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  5. increased watering of the mouth
  6. irregular, fast or slow, or shallow breathing
  7. lightheadedness, dizziness or fainting
  8. nausea
  9. pale or blue lips, fingernails, or skin
  10. seizures
  11. sweating
  12. trouble breathing
  13. unusual tiredness or weakness
  14. vomiting

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Accident
  2. bruising
  3. large, flat, blue or purplish patches in the skin
