Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Full or bloated feeling
  2. pressure in the stomach
  3. stomach pain
  4. swelling of the stomach area

Incidence not known

  1. Bloating or swelling of the face, arms, hands, lower legs, or feet
  2. bloody or black, tarry stools
  3. chest pain or tightness
  4. constipation
  5. cough
  6. difficulty swallowing
  7. dizziness
  8. fainting
  9. fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat
  10. hives, itching, skin rash
  11. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  12. no heartbeat
  13. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  14. rapid weight gain
  15. shakiness in the legs, arms, hands, or feet
  16. swelling of the neck
  17. tingling of the hands or feet
  18. trembling or shaking of the hands or feet
  19. trouble breathing
  20. unusual tiredness or weakness
  21. unusual weight gain or loss
  22. vomiting
  23. vomiting of blood or material that looks like coffee grounds

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:
