Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Being forgetful
  2. blindness
  3. blurred vision
  4. bone pain
  5. burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
  6. chest tightness
  7. confusion as to time, place, or person
  8. decreased vision
  9. difficulty in moving
  10. eye pain
  11. headache
  12. holding false beliefs that cannot be changed by fact
  13. joint pain
  14. loss of memory
  15. mental depression or anxiety
  16. muscle aches, cramps, pains, stiffness ,or weakness
  17. nausea or vomiting
  18. nerve pain
  19. nightmares or unusually vivid dreams
  20. problems with memory
  21. problems with speech or speaking
  22. seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there
  23. shakiness and unsteady walk
  24. swelling
  25. swollen joints
  26. tearing
  27. trouble breathing
  28. unsteadiness, awkwardness, trembling, or other problems with muscle control or coordination
  29. unusual excitement, nervousness, or restlessness
  30. weakness in the arms, hands, legs, or feet

Incidence not known

  1. Chest pain
  2. chills
  3. cough
  4. dark urine
  5. general feeling of discomfort or illness
  6. joint stiffness or swelling
  7. loss of appetite
  8. lower back or side pain
  9. pain or swelling in the arms or legs without any injury
  10. stomach pain, severe
  11. swelling of the feet or lower legs
  12. thickening of bronchial secretions
  13. yellow eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Burning, dry or itching eyes
  2. change in color vision
  3. change in taste
  4. constipation
  5. diarrhea
  6. difficulty seeing at night
  7. discharge, excessive tearing
  8. dizziness eye swelling
  9. increased sensitivity of the eyes to sunlight
  10. increased weight
  11. loss of taste
  12. redness, pain, swelling of the eye, eyelid, or inner lining of the eyelid
  13. seeing floating dark spots or material before eyes
