Dr. Pankaj Garg is an Associate Surgeon in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Mayo Clinic Florida. He joined the department of cardiothoracic surgery at Mayo Clinic in Florida 2 years ago. He had done an extensive training in the field of cardiothoracic surgery. He is board certified cardiothoracic and vascular surgeon in India since 2009. He was working as Associate Professor at U N Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Center where he was performing both adult and congenital heart surgeries. In USA, he has done 1 year of adult cardiac and aortic surgery fellowship at Mayo Clinic Rochester, Minnesota. During this 1 year, he gained the surgical experience in managing complex pediatric and adult cardiac and aortic cases. During this 1 year of training at Mayo Clinic, Dr. Garg was mentored by world renowned surgeons including Hartzel Schaff, Joseph Dearani, Gabor Bagameri and Juan Crestanello. That was followed by 1 year of complex congenital heart surgery fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts. During his fellowship, Dr. Garg was mentored by world renowned congenital heart surgeons including Pedro DelNido, Christopher Baird, Sitaram Emani, and Aditya Kaza. during his fellowship, Dr. Garg gained the surgical experience in managing complex congenital heart diseases including biventricular conversion of complex congenital heart diseases and neonatal heart surgeries. Subsequently, he did heart/lung transplant and mechanical circulatory support fellowship at Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville, Florida. During these 2 years, Dr. Garg was mentored by Si Pham and trained in complex heart and lung transplant procedures and implantation of mechanical circulatory support devices such as LVAD, Impella, ECMO, IABP, ProtecDuo and CentriMag.

Dr. Garg has presented at major international meetings such as ISHLT, AATS, ACC, IACTS (Annual Conference of Indian Cardiothoracic Society). Dr. Garg enjoys travelling and exploring new places, learning new skills, playing cricket & listening music, and hiking.
