Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. bladder pain
  3. bleeding gums
  4. blood in the urine or stools
  5. blurred vision
  6. bruising
  7. chest tightness
  8. chills
  9. cloudy urine
  10. collection of blood under the skin
  11. cough
  12. coughing up blood
  13. deep, dark purple bruise
  14. difficult, burning, or painful urination
  15. difficulty in breathing or swallowing
  16. dizziness
  17. fever
  18. frequent urge to urinate
  19. headache
  20. hoarseness
  21. increased menstrual flow or vaginal bleeding
  22. itching, pain, redness, or swelling
  23. large, flat, blue or purplish patches in the skin
  24. lower back or side pain
  25. nervousness
  26. nosebleeds
  27. painful or difficult urination
  28. pale skin
  29. paralysis
  30. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  31. pounding in the ears
  32. prolonged bleeding from cuts
  33. pus in the urine
  34. red or dark brown urine
  35. small, red or purple spots on the skin
  36. slow or fast heartbeat
  37. sore throat
  38. swelling
  39. tenderness, pain, swelling, warmth, skin discoloration, and prominent superficial veins over the affected area
  40. trouble breathing
  41. ulcers, sores, or white spots in the mouth
  42. unusual bleeding or bruising
  43. unusual tiredness or weakness

Less common

  1. Painful blisters on the trunk of the body

Incidence not known

  1. Anxiety
  2. burning or stinging of the skin
  3. chest pain
  4. fainting
  5. pain, redness, or swelling in the arm or leg
  6. painful cold sores or blisters on the lips, nose, eyes, or genitals
  7. pains in the chest, groin, or legs, especially calves of the legs
  8. persistent non-healing sore
  9. pink growth
  10. reddish patch or irritated area
  11. severe headaches of sudden onset
  12. sudden loss of coordination
  13. sudden onset of slurred speech
  14. sudden vision changes
  15. shiny bump
  16. white, yellow, or waxy scar-like area

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Bloated or full feeling
  2. diarrhea
  3. excess air or gas in the stomach or bowels
  4. feeling of constant movement of self or surroundings
  5. passing gas
  6. sensation of spinning
  7. skin rash
  8. weight gain
