Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. False or unusual sense of well-being
  2. fear or nervousness
  3. mood or mental changes

Rare

  1. Chest tightness
  2. difficult or labored breathing
  3. fast, irregular, pounding, or racing heartbeat or pulse
  4. large, hive-like swelling on face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or genitals
  5. loss of appetite
  6. loss of memory
  7. nightmares
  8. problems with memory
  9. seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there
  10. shakiness and unsteady walk
  11. uncontrolled eye movements
  12. unsteadiness, trembling, or other problems with muscle control or coordination
  13. unusual excitement, nervousness, restlessness, or irritability
  14. weight loss

Incidence not known

  1. Muscle cramps
  2. seizures
  3. shakiness in the legs, arms, hands, or feet
  4. stomach cramps
  5. sweating
  6. trembling or shaking of the hands or feet
  7. vomiting

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

Symptoms of overdose

  1. Agitation
  2. blurred vision
  3. change in consciousness
  4. changes in patterns and rhythms of speech
  5. confusion
  6. decreased or absent reflexes
  7. difficult or trouble breathing
  8. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  9. irregular, fast, slow, or shallow breathing
  10. loss of consciousness
  11. loss of strength or energy
  12. nightmares
  13. pale or blue lips, fingernails, or skin
  14. shakiness and unsteady walk
  15. sleepiness or unusual drowsiness
  16. slurred speech
  17. trouble speaking
  18. unsteadiness, trembling, or other problems with muscle control or coordination
  19. unusual drowsiness, dullness, tiredness, weakness, or feeling of sluggishness
  20. unusual excitement, nervousness, restlessness, or irritability

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Less common

  1. Diarrhea
  2. dry mouth
  3. feeling of constant movement of self or surroundings
  4. headache
  5. nausea
  6. sensation of spinning
  7. unusual dullness or feeling of sluggishness

Rare

  1. Backache
  2. burning eyes

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
