Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Blurred vision
  2. dizziness
  3. fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse
  4. headache
  5. nervousness
  6. pounding in the ears

Less common

  1. Agitation
  2. anxiety
  3. confusion
  4. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  5. increased sweating
  6. unusual tiredness or weakness

Rare

  1. Chest pain or discomfort
  2. decrease in frequency of urination
  3. decrease in urine volume
  4. difficulty in passing urine
  5. discouragement
  6. feeling sad or empty
  7. irritability
  8. lack of appetite
  9. lack of interest or pleasure
  10. lightheadedness, dizziness, or fainting
  11. muscle twitching or jerking
  12. nervousness
  13. painful urination
  14. rhythmic movement of muscles
  15. shakiness in the legs, arms, hands, or feet
  16. sleepiness or unusual drowsiness
  17. slow or irregular heartbeat
  18. trembling or shaking of the hands or feet
  19. trouble breathing
  20. trouble concentrating
  21. trouble sleeping

Incidence not known

  1. Blue lips and fingernails
  2. blurred vision
  3. body aches
  4. coughing that sometimes produces a pink frothy sputum
  5. diarrhea
  6. excessive crying
  7. fever
  8. goosebumps
  9. headache
  10. increase in blood pressure
  11. increased or excessive unconscious or jerking movements
  12. nausea
  13. no blood pressure or pulse
  14. pale skin
  15. pounding in the ears
  16. restlessness
  17. runny nose
  18. seizures
  19. shivering
  20. sneezing
  21. stomach cramps
  22. stopping of the heart
  23. swelling in the legs and ankles
  24. unconsciousness
  25. vomiting
  26. yawning

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Feeling of warmth
  2. redness of the face, neck, arms and occasionally, upper chest

Less common

  1. Burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
  2. change in taste
  3. decreased appetite
  4. loss of taste
  5. stuffy nose
  6. throat and mouth pain
  7. throat irritation

Rare

  1. Dry mouth
  2. dryness or soreness of the throat
  3. hoarseness
  4. tender, swollen glands in the neck
  5. trouble in swallowing
  6. voice changes
